Introducing… Lennon’s Grinch
Created by Lennon Senior, at age 9
Last year, during a quiet morning at home, our very talented and creative son Lennon sat down with a handful of random green pencil crayons, markers, crayons, and pencils and created something magical. He had received a pack of Posca markers for Christmas and had recently watched the live-action Grinch, so the character was already fresh on his mind and he had fully entered his Grinch era. As an ADHD kiddo, he fixated on drawing him again and again.
That morning, he came across a YouTube Shorts video of artist Howard Lee drawing the Grinch using pencils and unconventional materials like matchsticks, toothpaste, and ketchup. Instantly, he felt a spark of inspiration.
The finished result turned into a bold, expressive, wildly detailed drawing that stopped us in our tracks. Lennon has always been creative, and we first noticed his talent back in kindergarten, but this felt like a whole new level.
We loved it so much, and Lennon was so incredibly proud of it. He asked us to share a photo of the sketch with his teacher, who showed it to the entire class… and then something amazing happened.
His teacher wanted a shirt with his artwork on it.
Then his friends wanted one.
Customers asked about it.
Before we knew it, Lennon’s drawing had taken on a life of its own.
Lennon is now 10, full of creativity, curiosity, and imagination, and we are so excited to nurture his love of art in every way we can. Featuring his work here at The Zesty Lemon Clothing Co. is our way of celebrating the magic kids create when they’re encouraged to follow what lights them up.
Every piece in Lennon's Grinch Collection features a high quality print of his original drawing, capturing the textured lines, wild energy, and all, exactly as he created it.
All profits from the sales of Lennon’s Grinch products will go directly to Lennon. He will be donating a portion to local charities, and the rest will be saved for his future (maybe art school one day), with a little set aside for things that spark his creativity right now.
